Pediatric
occupational therapy services
What is occupational therapy?
Just like adults, children have jobs too. Their jobs are to play and learn but sometimes certain diagnoses like autism, ADHD, Down syndrome or developmental delays can make those things more difficult. That’s where we come in to help. All of these conditions can affect a child’s ability to do daily tasks such as getting dressed, going to the bathroom, eating, coloring, writing and interacting appropriately with others.
Our therapists will work with your child on cognitive, physical and motor skills to help them become more independent and self-sufficient. When children can do things on their own, their self-confidence greatly improves because they’re not having to rely on others to do things they can do for themselves.
We can also work on social skills such taking turns, transitioning between activities and making eye contact.
